The Job in One Paragraph
Each clip is continuous, head-mounted, first-person video of you performing a normal "Day in a Life" activity in a real-world venue — authentic and unscripted, the way you'd naturally do it. Treat the routine as a guide, not a script. It's expected and OK if not every sub-step happens in every clip. The goal is a genuine "day in a life" feel.

Hardware Requirements
The camera must be mounted HORIZONTALLY
This is the biggest change from Study 1. In Study 1, the X5 sat vertically (portrait) on the head strap. For Study 2 we need the camera turned on its side so it records horizontally (landscape). That requires one extra piece of hardware — the horizontal head mount adapter below. Clips submitted in the old vertical orientation will not be accepted for Study 2.

Rentals are a great option for those who don't own the camera or don't want to purchase it. You can rent temporarily to complete the project and then return it. We've seen different rental services online, and we recommend them — sometimes as low as $50 for a week of rental.
Rules of the Shoot
Solo capture only — nobody else should appear in the video
Group activities have been removed from scope entirely. The House Party, Large Gathering, Board Games Night, and other multi-person routines are no longer part of Study 2 and will not be accepted.
Going forward, our goal is that no other person appears in your footage. Plan each shoot so you are the only one in frame — shoot at home when others are out, choose off-peak hours for any public routine, sit facing away from crowds, and keep the camera on your own hands, task, or the space in front of you rather than panning across people.
We know it may happen anyway — someone walks past in a store, another diner crosses the frame. That is okay. We will blur those faces in post. But treat it as the exception, not the plan: clips built around other people in frame are not acceptable.
- The activity must clearly start and end inside the clip.
- You must be the only person in frame. Avoid capturing other people's faces — incidental passers-by will be blurred, but do not build a clip around anyone else.
- Audio: only your own voice. No audio in busy public places (cafes with lots of background voices, gyms, transit, etc.).
- After each clip, log: start time, end time, objects used, and any deviations from the planned routine.

All captures must comply with these rules — applicants must confirm they can meet them
- No minors. No children may appear in any capture.
- No collection in China.
- No collection in Colorado, Illinois, Texas, or Washington (CO / IL / TX / WA).
- Public captures are United States only — no public/outdoor public collection outside the US.
- Protocol statuses can be updated at any time — I will re-check this catalog before starting a new routine and stop capturing a routine if its status changes.
- Solo capture only. Group activities have been removed from scope — do not shoot routines that involve other people.
- No one else should appear in your video. Plan every shoot so you are the only person in frame.
