Review Scope of Work

Understand the job, equipment, and capture requirements

The Job in One Paragraph

Each Asset is a single continuous, head-mounted, first-person video of you performing one activityin a real-world venue — roughly 10 minutes, authentic and unscripted, the way you'd naturally do it. This phase is single-activity, not multi-task routines: capture should show a real setup, the main action, a natural variation or small interruption, and a wrap-up — not a highlight reel and not several activities strung together. Treat the listed beats as a guide, not a script; not every beat needs to appear in every clip.

Solo only

All 54 activities are solo. Group activities are set aside entirely — no one else should appear in frame.

No children on camera

Per direct agreement, no child appears on camera. The Kids Toy activity is adult-only — organizing or demonstrating toys.

One activity, ~10 min

Each clip covers a single activity that clearly starts and ends inside the clip. Partial clips don't count toward coverage.

Mount

Head-mounted (Easy Clip / hat clip)

Insta360 X5 or X6 only, head-mounted via Easy Clip or hat clip. No other capture devices are permitted this phase. Audio only from consented individuals; no audio in medium/high-density public locations.

Mount orientation

Mount the camera HORIZONTALLY

Just like Study 2, the X5 and X6 record best turned on their side so it captures a wide horizontal (landscape) frame — do not leave it vertical (portrait) on the head strap. Use the horizontal head mount adapter and confirm the orientation in the app before you start each clip.

Do not mount vertically
Insta360 X5 in the vertical portrait orientation, which should not be used

Vertical (portrait)

Don't mount the camera upright like this

Correct

OptionalUpgrade

Insta360 X6 Camera

The newer X6 is an optional upgrade, with higher-resolution 8K 360 capture. Both the X5 and X6 are fully approved for Study 3 — the X6 is for providers who prefer the latest model.

Rentals Are Also Available!

Rentals are a great option for those who don't own the camera or don't want to purchase it. You can rent temporarily to complete the project and then return it. We've seen different rental services online, and we recommend them — sometimes as low as $50 for a week of rental.

Lensrentals

We recommend Lensrentals.com — a trusted camera rental service with the Insta360 X5 available by the week. They ship anywhere in the U.S. in 24 hours or less.

Eligibility & Hard Conditions

All captures must comply with these rules — applicants must confirm they can meet them

  • Solo capture only — every Asset is performed solo. Group activities are set aside entirely this phase.
  • No one else should appear in your video. Plan every shoot so you are the only person in frame; incidental passers-by will be blurred but must be the rare exception.
  • No child shall appear on camera. The Kids Toy activity is performed by an adult only — organizing, packing, or demonstrating toys.
  • Each Asset is ONE continuous single activity of approximately 10 minutes — not a multi-activity routine. The activity must clearly start and end inside the clip; partial clips do not count.
  • Insta360 X5 or X6 only, head-mounted. No other capture devices are permitted this phase.
  • Public captures are permitted in the USA, with consent from any participant or location — except in Colorado, Texas, Washington and Illinois (see US state restrictions below). Providers in the USA may film activities in public places (parks, streets, stores, etc.) once consent is obtained, keeping the solo, no-faces rules above.
  • US state restrictions: In Colorado, Texas and Washington, capture in RESIDENTIAL locations only — no public captures in those states. Illinois is excluded entirely — no captures in Illinois, residential or public.
  • Audio only from consented individuals. No audio in medium/high-density public locations.
  • Log activity start/end timestamps, objects used, and any protocol deviations per clip.
  • Routines marked FULL are closed and can no longer be claimed. Open counts show slots still waiting on delivered footage — open routines can be picked up by new providers.

CO / TX / WA — Residential Only

CO / TX / WA — residential captures only. Do not capture in public places in these states.

IL — Excluded Entirely

IL — excluded entirely. Do not capture in Illinois, residential or public.

Eligible Countries

Study 3 is open to providers based in the following countries

  • USA
  • India
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • United Kingdom
  • Singapore
  • South Africa

Public-place captures are permitted for providers in the USA, with consent from any participant or location — except in Colorado, Texas and Washington, where captures must be residential only, and Illinois, which is excluded entirely (no captures at all, residential or public). In all countries, the solo and no-faces rules above still apply.

Activity List (Appendix A)
